Carlisle terminal is one of the newer additions in Knight Transportation family. It was open Wednesday, July 25, 2007. The site selected was on the Famed Miracle Mile. Most people don’t know the miracle mile is actually the 1 mile of highway between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 81. It was the first Township level road built by federal budget under the Eisenhower interstate system. The terminal building used to be a gas station with a full service garage. If you walk around the office area you can actually still feel the car lifts under the carpet at some of the places.
